Therme Art Program
Therme Forum: Back to the Body
at Design Miami/
As part of Design Miami’s Talks Program, Therme Art presented its Therme Forum Back to the Body: Human-Oriented Forms in Art, Design and Architecture
The absence of nature in our cities can be seen as a reflection of the disconnection we are experiencing with our bodies. How can we reconnect with ourselves through art, design and architecture? How can art re-program our current self-perceptions?
On 6 December 2018, Therme Art co-hosted the prestigious Design Miami/ Talks Program, which included a three-part series of Therme Forum conversations on sustainability, body and art in design, architecture and urban planning.
The highly anticipated Therme Forum, Back to the Body: Human-Orientated Forms in Art, Design and Architecture panel discussion filled the Francis Kéré-designed Talks Theatre with a lively discussion led by Serpentine Galleries Artistic Director Hans Ulrich Obrist, and thought-provoking perspectives on human-oriented forms in art, design, and architecture.
Panelists:
Virgil Abloh, Artist & Fashion Designer
Arthur Jafa, Artist
Francis Kéré, Founder and Lead Architect of Kéré Architecture
Torkwase Dyson, Artist
Grace Wales Bonner, Creative Director & Founder
Moderated by Hans Ulrich Obrist, Artistic Director, Serpentine Galleries
Therme Forum was co-curated by Design Miami/ and Therme Art and co-hosted by Mikolaj Sekutowicz and Sara Faraj
