Working with artists to realise the integration of a ‘Wellbeing Culture’ within urban design, it is a catalyst for collaboration, bringing together an international network of leading figures from diverse fields to address the most urgent aspects of human life. Led by a deep engagement with the natural environment, Therme Art combines the interests of the latest scientific findings in human health, with the needs of urban design and culture.
Outline of Duties:
To help achieve our ambitious cultural wellbeing mission, Therme Art is seeking an experienced Head of Collections & Development who will oversee and manage Therme Art’s art collection and related strategic partnerships. The role will be based at the Therme Art office at Erkelenzdamm 5, Berlin, with the possibility of working remotely.
Your Tasks
- • Directly report to the Head of Programming and the CEO
• Executive project management of Ikona Collections and cultural development activities
• Advise senior management regarding artwork acquisitions, artwork management, cultural expansion and art market-related activities
• Develop and oversee projects and the related materials (eg. presentations, business plans, excel lists, budgets) to be shared with investors, partners and stakeholders
• Collaborate with stakeholders, investors and third parties to develop and implement project concepts, investment and related events
• Negotiate and oversee contracts with partners, collaborators and investors
• Oversee and manage investor relations and their contact input on the internal database
• Advise project managers and team members on contracts and any other issues related to Ikona and its collection
• Define project KPIs and ensure these are met
• Use and continually develop leadership skills
• Represent the company at external events (50% travel component required)
• Carry out any tasks reasonably delegated by the CEO, Head of Programming and Operations Manager
Qualifications
- • Extensive knowledge of and demonstrable experience in a similar role within the art market or related fields; sales experience is preferred
• Leadership skills and capacity to manage a team, delegate project tasks to freelancers and junior staff members, depending on individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
• Track project budgetary and performance objectives (Excel proficiency)
• Manage legal, financial and operational logistics as needed
• An outstanding work ethic and ability to prioritise and manage time efficiently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; thrive in managing multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships, and a natural ability to work in teams
• Strong attention to detail, hands-on attitude and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
